The Michael Dwyer Traditional Music & Arts Festival is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this June in Allihies village on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. It is held in honour of the late Michael Dwyer, a renowned tin whistle player.
The festival features a rich program of traditional Irish music, with performances from renowned musicians, workshops and community events. Highlights include concerts, open sessions and competitions for various instruments and singing. The events are spread across multiple venues in Allihies, creating an immersive and lively atmosphere for visitors.
In addition to the musical performances, the festival also includes various workshops for musicians of all levels, such as singing and tin whistle workshops, fostering a community spirit of learning and appreciation for traditional Irish music.
